Did The Eclipse Break our Beloved Barksdale Bubble?

Move over rapture eclipse conspiracies and make way for Shreveport’s own eclipse theory!

If you’re familiar with me, you know where I stand on the Barksdale Bubble. It’s as real as the sky is blue, or as crawfish are delicious. There is no conspiracy theory when it comes to our beloved Barksdale Bubble, only truth and facts. The truth is there’s something wacky happening in our skies, the mystery is what exactly that could be. Could it be a fluke surrounding our Doppler radar equipment? Some say that’s the case, but how can you explain when the Doppler data shows a bubble, and the big storms happen to bubble around our neck of the woods? It has happened too many times to count, in fact, I bet if you’ve lived in the Ark-La-Tex long enough, you probably have a few Barksdale Bubble radar screenshots in your phone right now. So, I gotta rule out the faulty Doppler equipment right off the bat.

Another strong theory has to do with concrete. I’ve heard from many people who believe the Barksdale Bubble effect has nothing to do with military-grade equipment and much more to do with the land Barksdale sits on. More importantly, they say the vast amount of concrete on base is the culprit. I’m no expert when it comes to large amounts of concrete somehow altering the weather in our skies, but I’ve heard it enough in my life that I had to include it here. However, wouldn’t that mean all bases experience this same phenomenon? What about airports or even NASCAR tracks? Come on, even a radio DJ can conclude the concrete ain’t the secret sauce here.

Finally, the last theory I’d like to touch on is the idea that Barksdale possesses and regularly dispatches the use of their own weather-altering device. Now, am I saying that I believe Barksdale Air Force Base has a weather control device that they can switch on or off at will? No, I don’t think so. However, am I saying that Barksdale (one of the country’s most important military installations) could have technology that we mere civilians couldn’t begin to comprehend? I don’t think there’s any denying that.

So let’s play along with the idea that the Barksdale Bubble is an actual device deployed by those at BAFB. I think it’s fair to say since a certain infrequent event took place, our Barksdale Bubble has been on the fritz. Yes, my new favorite conspiracy theory has been floated all around local socials this week, with mostly Shreveporters joking, but I must say, I’ve seen quite a few believers. Today, the question must be asked. Did the Solar Eclipse of 2024 somehow take down our beloved Barksdale Bubble? Things sure have been wet around here lately…
