Many in the Ark-La-Tex have been saddened by the sudden closure of one of Shreveport’s most unique eat stops. Now, we have more details after an announcement from Dripp Donuts themselves.
What is Dripp Donuts?
This wonderful restaurant offered a unique dining experience in the heart of Downtown Shreveport. They served delicious donuts, kolaches, coffee, an espresso lineup, and delicious seasonal king cake. I hope everyone reading this has had at least once the chance to enjoy this place, as it was so special. They began feeding the Ark-La-Tex back in 2021.
Dripp Donut’s February Announcement
In February of this year, Dripp Donuts took to Facebook to announce a sudden closure due to building repairs. In their announcement, they said, “D’OH! CLOSED DUE TO BUILDING REPAIRS. Unfortunately, we will be closed until further notice as the building undergoes some repairs. We are just as sad as y’all are and hope to reopen as soon as possible!”
More Bad News for Dripp in March
Sadly for Dripp Donuts, the building was in much worse shape than previously thought. A week after their February announcement, they shared a disheartening update to their Facebook page, saying, “BRACE YOURSELVES FOR SOME BAD NEWS! We will post an update on the status of Dripp Donuts once we get more information. We ask everyone to stay away from the building for safety reasons.” Accompanying the announcement was an image that seemed to show several tractors holding the building in place, surrounded by caution tape.
“Lights Out at 421 Market”
This week, Dripp Donuts took to Facebook to formally announce its closure. While doing so, they also provided behind-the-scenes information to the public surrounding the situation, and the Ark-La-Tex has rallied around the donut shop through social media.
