Breakfast is often hailed as the most crucial meal of the day, and thankfully, our town is a treasure trove of fantastic breakfast spots. Here are my top five favorites!
Breakfast is my jam—I indiscriminately relish every item on the menu. From devouring an impressive number of eggs to consuming bacon till I’m full, from gobbling sausages till I’m stuffed to tackling a towering stack of pancakes as tall as the Regions Tower in downtown Shreveport—if it’s on the breakfast menu, I’m all in.

- Strawn’s Eat Shop: Simply put, any establishment with ‘Strawn’s Eat Shop’ in its name is a winner in my book. Few places can rival the breakfast served at this legendary spot.
- RJ’s Restaurant: Having grown up on Mansfield Road in Shreveport, my family and I have spent countless mornings at RJ’s. This beloved local eatery offers a fabulous 24-hour menu, with breakfast that consistently impresses.
- Another Broken Egg Cafe: It was only about four years ago that I discovered the delights of Another Broken Egg Cafe. Located on Line Avenue, this place boasts a warm ambiance, perfect for enjoying a scrumptious breakfast.
- Southern Maid Donuts: Sometimes, all you crave in the morning is a donut. And if your morning desire is a donut, not visiting Southern Maid might get you run out of town!
- Waffle House: For the final pick, I’m going national. Waffle House might be a chain, but its proximity to both my home and workplace makes it a convenient choice. I could happily dine there five days a week without a single complaint.
