Move over, Gordon McKernan; there’s a new advertising king in town. Sound Minds in Shreveport has gone Cyber, and it’s awesome.
I guess because I’ve been in the advertising world for so long, it truly excites me when I see a company crushing its advertising. However, usually, I’m not caught off guard. I hear a commercial break and listen to see who is doing what creatively. I drive along the interstate and see who has mixed their billboards up and who has left them unchanged.

Anyway, I’m so accustomed to advertising that it’s tough to surprise me, but man, I was in for quite the surprise today. Lately, you’ve probably seen the very first Cybertrucks arrive in Shreveport. Every time I get online, I see a new video someone took capturing one traveling on our roads, kind of like capturing an elusive Big Foot on camera. However, I haven’t seen one with my own eyes yet, until today.
About an hour ago, I was driving along Line Avenue when, out of nowhere, a beautiful Cybertruck pulled up next to me. This one was different, though, and I sped up to get a closer look (safely, of course).
Quickly, I realized I had driven next to arguably the greatest local advertising I have ever seen. Four years ago, Dave Bushnell with Sound Minds ordered his Cybertruck, and he told me it was always his plan to wrap it for Sound Minds, saying, “I knew it would be great for advertising.” Great seems like an understatement, and it looks like his investment from four years ago will quickly begin to pay off.
I asked him about the wrap job itself because I imagined that no company in Shreveport had had the chance to wrap a Cybertruck yet. He told me the wonderful job was done by OddBall Branding in Shreveport. He also told me that they claimed it was one of their easiest wraps yet, due to all of the straight lines. Thanks, Elon Musk.
All in all, I always believe great advertising should be applauded. Job well done to Dave and the gang at Sound Minds!
