An abandoned Shreveport home on Cross Lake has been garnering attention online. Would you live in this house?
I have to say, this house is unique. I haven’t seen anything else like it in town, for better or worse. I don’t necessarily hate it as much as those in the comment section, however. Some comments read, “Houses like this are SO revolting. No class, no style.” and, “it’s big and tacky and reminds me of a funeral home.” Personally, I don’t think it’s THAT bad, but I can certainly see where people are coming from.
Deeper than the appearance of the home, though, is its story. You know, for a home to be in this condition, there’s a story to tell. Luckily, I didn’t have to research very long before stumbling across unverified information. I use the term “unverified information” because there’s no way of knowing with certainty that what this person says is 100% the truth, so take it with a grain of salt.
One Shreveporter writes, “Two couples owned it jointly from 1992-2001. They paid $178,750 for it. They sold it to a lady for $300k in 2001. She had some dirt work and stuff done for the house pad and didn’t finish paying for that according to a $2000 lien that’s still against the property from 2005. Another lien for $1740 for some concrete that wasn’t paid in full from 2006. An electrical parts and labor lien for $24,700 from 2009. Glass/Windows lien from 2013 for $2500. In 2023 that lady sold it (and other lands) to another woman with the same last name, who had been listed as the “Contractor” on all those liens, for $60. Yes. $60. Well, the deed was dated 2009 but wasn’t filed of record until Nov 2023. She then sold it the same day into an LLC for $90.
According to Facebookers, so once again, unverified information, the LLC that purchased the home (for $90?!?) is Push LLC.
I would like to learn more about the home and would be interested in seeing it and possibly shooting a video, so if anyone reading this has information, please email me at Jay@TheKSBC.com.
