More Closures; DOTD Gives I-20 Rehab Project Update

The DOTD has provided an update for the I-20 rehab project, and if you drive in Bossier regularly, you’ll want to hear this.

I should start by saying I have been pleasantly surprised during the I-20 rehab project. When the project first began, I would avoid I-20 like the plague. I couldn’t imagine driving any distance down I-20 with the plane closures. However, I have to give props to those who have earned it. I can’t think of one time my day has been significantly altered due to traffic on I-20. So, bravo to those who help the traffic flow daily.

This week, the DOTD has profited from an update for the rehab project, and it looks like a few closures are heading our way. I think those who travel in Bossier City daily should be on the lookout, as these closures could change how we get to and from.

On Facebook, the DOTD wrote, “DOTD announces that the I-20 major rehabilitation project in Bossier City continues to progress, and will soon be reconstructing one of the interchanges along the route. Beginning Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the I-20 on and off-ramps at LA 72 (Old Minden Road) will be closed to allow the contractor to remove the existing pavement and roadway base, and replace with new base and concrete. This interchange closure is anticipated to be in place until mid-August 2024, weather permitting. The time frame for this interchange work was planned to take place while school is not in session.”
