I was today years old when I realized what noodling is, and now, I am absolutely hooked.
That’s an ironic way to start this article, considering there are no hooks involved whatsoever. Earlier today, I was minding my own business scrolling on Facebook when I came across a video that caught my attention. The page belonged to Geaux Noodling, and I quickly realized my attention wasn’t the only thing they were catching.
For those in the dark, like I was for over thirty years apparently, noodling is fishing for catfish using absolutely nothing except your bare hands. That concept alone blows my mind. Keep in mind that I am the furthest thing from an outdoorsman. The funny thing is, literally, all of my friends are avid hunters and fishers. Somehow, I cannot convince them to take me on a trip despite my best efforts.
Now, thanks to Geaux Noodling, I don’t need my friends to take pity on me and let me into their lifestyle.

Geaux Noodling is a fishing guide service located right here in Shreveport. They take you out to a body of water in our area and teach you how to noodle yourself, and the experience seems to be an absolute thrill. I stumbled across one video from a recent guide trip and within 20 minutes, I watched just about every video they’ve ever posted.
These are monster catfish too. I think when I saw the video, I was expecting a little sucker, and all of a sudden, you see a first-time noodler picking up a behemoth catfish that looks like it was around with the dinosaurs.
Simply put, I will be trying this soon, and I think you might also be interested in the experience. You can find Geaux Noodling on Facebook HERE, and on Instagram HERE. You can book your noodling extravaganza by calling (318) 560-9945.
