50 Cent’s Humor & Harmony weekend is quickly approaching. Looking at the event on paper, it’s fair to say it very easily could be our area’s most significant event ever.
I don’t make that claim lightly. As many of you know, I have been in Shreveport all my life. During my radio career, I’ve had the absolute privilege of being a part of every single large event that has made its way through town over the past 17 years. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an event and a weekend quite like this.
For months now, I’ve sat quietly as I’ve read pessimistic views and opinions surrounding 50 Cent’s arrival in Shreveport-Bossier. I get it; some people are just naturally pessimistic, and I don’t believe that’s necessarily a bad thing. However, when it comes to 50 Cent and his plans for Shreveport, I believe in my heart that this upcoming event is just the beginning, and I personally can’t wait to see all that he’ll do for our community.
Humor & Harmony Weekend is set to take place at Independence Stadium from August 8th – August 10th. The Big Bowl Comedy Show features some of the absolute biggest acts on the planet today. Those performing include Andrew Schulz, Chico Bean, Matt Rife, Michael Blackson, and Katt Williams, to name a few. Simply put, that is an ALL-STAR comedy lineup anywhere on the planet.
That portion of the weekend alone could easily make it one of the biggest in history, but 50 Cent doesn’t stop there. The other portion of the weekend will be the 50 Cent & Friends Concert. Listen to this line-up: 2 Chainz, Flo Rida, Fredo Bang, French Montana, Jeremih, and Moneybagg Yo, to name a few. Trust me; many more big names are coming, and you can see them on the flyer below.
It doesn’t stop there. They also advertise special appearances by Adrian Peterson, Andre Johnson, Terrell Owens, Kai Cenat, Alex Lapri, and many more.
On paper, I believe we’re looking at the biggest event in the history of Shreveport-Bossier. All of this is exciting and should be celebrated, but I believe the most incredible thing about this giant event is that it’s benefitting 50 Cent’s G-Unity Foundation.
