One might expect the largest U.S. go-kart track to be in California, Florida, or Texas. Yet, it turns out, Louisiana boasts this title. Specifically, in Avondale, Louisiana—just a 20-minute drive from New Orleans—sits NOLA Motorsports, the largest outdoor go-kart track in the country.
From Shreveport, it’s merely a five-hour drive to this go-kart haven. Having such an expansive and renowned facility practically in our backyard is a thrill.
Spanning 40 acres, with 30 acres dedicated to go-kart tracks, NOLA Motorsports offers a vast playground for speed enthusiasts. Yes, you read that right—30 acres devoted to racing! They offer karts that can zip as fast as 60 MPH. Some preliminary training and experience are required before you can handle one of these high-speed machines.
Besides go-karting, the facility occasionally opens its tracks for cars, allowing all types of vehicles to test their limits on the pavement.
