Undoubtedly, we have a real cat community problem here in Shreveport. While many are seemingly willing to turn their attention elsewhere, one community member has been fighting the good fight to help the cats in our area. Michael Powell might spend more time than anyone focusing on helping the cats of the SBC, but he can’t do it alone.
Today, Smitty’s Pizza is running a fundraiser and donating 10 percent of its sales to help Michael Powell trap and neuter/spay stray cats. It’s no cheap expense, and it’s awesome to see Smitty’s step in and help fight the issue.
To help, Smitty’s is encouraging Shreveporters to, “Come in from open to close or pick up your order to help us raise money to help him out.”
The great news doesn’t stop there, as Smitty’s updated their Facebook post to say, “MIKE POWELL JUST CALLED ME AND SAID THERE IS A GENTLEMAN THAT WILL DONATE $5.00 FOR EVERY PIZZA Y’ALL PURCHASE ON TUESDAY TO GO TOWARD HELPING SPAY/NEUTER STRAY CATS.”
Yes, I believe the all-caps is necessary as that is incredible news and deserves some serious celebration.
